Recently Jobless Melbourne Guide Gives Mock Tour of His Backyard During Lockdown

An Aussie guide kept his spirits up by offering a mock tour of his own backyard after losing his job during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Benjamin Malcolm Witkowski self-recorded a travel show-style guide to his Melbourne garden on March 19.

“At the rear of my backyard, lies one of the most incredible unique attractions: the backyard quarantine fence climb,” Witkowski says, indicating a small white ladder that has been placed on the ground.

Witkowski told Storyful that he was made redundant from two tour-guide roles as the coronavirus crisis escalated. By making the video, he wanted to cheer up his colleagues in the tourism industry during the stressful time.

“I have always taken pride in my Australian spirit and trying to have a bit of humour about life,” he said.
