Reckless Audi tore through Plymouth while being chased by police helicopter

A white Audi mounted curbs and drove through children's play fields while being chased by a police helicopter through Plymouth. Police were alerted after a vehicle triggered Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras in the city at around 8pm last Thursday (September 12).

An Audi was then tracked to Victoria Road before speeding away from police officers. During a lengthy pursuit, the diver overtook vehicles at speed, mounted curbs and drove on children's play fields.

The police helicopter was deployed and the white Audi was found unoccupied on Ferndale Road in Weston Mills. It was reported that two men had run from the vehicle on Ferndale Road.

However, they were never located and police are now appealing to the public for help. Officers are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the are at the time.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers investigating the incident would like to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage or CCTV in the area, or any information that may identify the driver. Anybody able to assist the investigation is asked to call 101 or visit our website quoting 50240232156."
