Record-breaking 107-year-old aims to become oldest person to star in a soap with 'Hollyoaks' role
Just holding one Guinness World Record is out of reach for many, but ambitious centenarian Jack Reynolds is eyeing his fourth: the record for being the oldest actor to appear in a soap opera.
The 107-year-old from Chesterfield is set to film a role on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks today, but will only be awarded the record if his performance is deemed good enough to make the final cut.

It has become a tradition that he breaks a record each year to mark his birthday in support of a charity, with the Hollyoaks challenge raising money for Alzheimers Dementia Support.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Mark McKinley told the programme it is “not just enough for [Jack] to simply film the scene”.
He added: “His performance has got to be good enough that he actually makes the final cut and is broadcast on the show.”
Hollyoaks actor Jacob Roberts, who plays Damon Kinsella on the soap, said he would have to be on his “A-game” when appearing alongside Jack.
He said: “I know Jack’s a professional so I’m going to be a bit intimidated but I’ll make sure I’ll do it.”
It will be revealed on tomorrow’s episode of Good Morning Britain whether Jack has successfully broken his latest record.
