Record-Breaking Rainfall and Gusty Winds Hit Arkansas

Record-setting rain and strong winds hit North Little Rock, Arkansas, on Wednesday, July 27, as the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area.

The NWS said 2.74 inches of rain fell in Little Rock on Wednesday, breaking the previous record for July 27 set in 1962.

Wind speeds as high as 48 mph were recorded in the area, the NWS said.
