Record-Breaking Snowfall Hits Minneapolis

An autumn storm hit Minneapolis, Minnesota, bringing a record-breaking 7.9 inches of snow to the area on Tuesday, October 20.

Footage captured by storm chaser Jake Heitman shows the city’s streets with a smattering of activity as people navigated their way through the wintery conditions.

The National Weather Service reported that at least 7.9 inches of snow fell in the Twin Cities on Tuesday, breaking the area’s previous record snowfall for October 20 (three inches, set in 1916).
