Drone footage released by the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex on December 18 shows the facility’s inflatable roof completely collapsed, following record-setting snowfall in Broome County, New York.
Binghamton was one of the areas in New York hardest hit by the nor’easter that blanketed much of the region on Wednesday and Thursday.
The National Weather Service said the storm dumped 40 inches of snow at the city’s airport – a two-day record for the area.
The weight of that snow proved too much for the inflatable roof of the complex, which normally hosts indoor athletics events. Credit: Greater Binghamton Sports Complex via Storyful
