Recovery truck driver has vehicle towed away after police A444 stop
It was a case of life imitating art for a recovery truck driver - when their vehicle ended up being towed away. Police stopped the recovery vehicle on the A444 Griff Way opposite the George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton.
It was pulled into the area by the petrol station by members of Warwickshire Police's Operational Patrol Unit (OPU). Officers carried out a number of roadside checks.
This revealed the driver had no insurance and was a provisional licence holder after being disqualified from driving until June 2025. As a result, the police team seized the recovery vehicle.

During another patrol, the team intercepted a BMW 118 on Wheelwright Lane in Ash Green. The driver was found to have no insurance, no driving Licence and the vehicle had no tax and no registered keeper.
The driver was reported to court and the BMW was seized.
