Not your typical minimal Swedish apartment, furniture designer Amelia Widell reveals her contemporary, vintage style in her Stockholm flat.
Demonstrating graceful design throughout, Amelia uses bold splashes of colour which are offset by neutral hues of wooden floors and white woodwork. The large windows make it very light, highlighting the electrifying velvet textures and colourful accessories inside.
Amelia is in love with pink and red which can be seen in the dusty pink centrepiece sofa and the burgundy arm chair, complemented by the grey and navy linen cushions and dark moody paintings on the sideboard.
The kitchen is decorated in earthy colours - from the natural materials of wood to the mushroom hues of the walls. This is offset by the patterned floor tiles. This down-to-earth feel can be created without breaking the bank by adding some plants and lick of paint.
Amelia has used petrol blue tones as seen in the upholstered bedhead, ottoman and bench in her bedroom against the calming tones of ‘stone-blue’ for the walls by Farrow & Ball.
