How to recreate Princess Eugenie's super stylish maternity outfits

Celebrations are in order for the Royal Family, as Princess Eugenie announced this week that she is pregnant with her second child.

At Hello! Fashion we’re overjoyed when a royal pregnancy occurs as it gives us fresh maternity dressing inspiration that we know everybody will be recreating.

From Princess Eugenie’s first pregnancy, we learned alot about her go-to silhouettes, dresses she picked out multiple times and her favourite maternity brands (many – which you’ll be pleased to know – are highly affordable).

Maternity dressing differs from one Royal Highness to the other. One of Princess Kate’s favourite looks was a structured midi coat, fastened above the bump to give shape but not fit too tight below the waist. The Duchess of Sussex however optsed for more snug-fitting dresses throught her pregnancies, creating a stunning silhouette that makes the baby bump protrude.

Princess Eugenie’s wardrobe is somewhere in between. Her versatile dress code means that a few key items can be styled multiple ways and dressed up or down – saving the planet and your purse.

The princess recycled a floaty navy mini dress from Whistles, with a high neckline and adorned with white and yellow flowers earlier this week to announce her second pregnancy. She first wore the dress in April 2018, six months before her wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

Long coats have been at the top of the fashion set’s winter wardrobe wishlist this year – notably the coveted camel Max Mara coat that our stylish royal Princess Eugenie is the owner of. She also sported a stunning Earth-toned houndstooth coat at the 2022 Christmas Carol concert, before her pregnancy was announced.

Midi Dresses

Eugenie is a fan of dresses in all different lengths when pregnant. Alongside a gorgeous green shift dress from Me & Em, she sported her Claudie Pierlot ‘Romily’ midi dress numerous times, proving a chiffon midi is ideal to wear with trainers, heels or boots. This particular dress isn’t from a maternity range either, so opting for the right material or perhaps sizing up if needed, could be the answer to all of your pregnancy bump style dilemmas.

Knee High Boots

Last but not least, knee high boots. Another staple item you may already have in your shoe cupboard. The princess wore knee high boots many times throughout her first pregnancy, and wore to the Christmas Carol concert with her houndstooth coat during her second. From suede kitten heels, to block-heeled leathers, to braving stilettos – she’s donned them all. Regardless of which style you opt to wear, a pair of black knee highs are a must in your maternity wardrobe (or any wardrobe for that matter).

Little Black Dresses

A little black dress is worth its weight in style gold and it's the most versatile frock on the planet.  The black pleated tie waist mini dress Eugenie wore on lunchtime outing in Mayfair in 2020 in images that appeared on MailOnline, is super chic and perfect to be dressed up or down. The princess wore it with knee high boots and the a turquoise coat.

Whether the dress is long or short, high neck or buttoned down, Eugenie seems to constantly opt for a silhouette that has a waist cinching detailing, providing a flattering silhouette.
