Recycle your Christmas tree and help Hull’s Dove House
This Christmas will see Hull’s Dove House Hospice embracing “tree-cycling” again as a way of raising much-needed funds.
The east Hull-based hospice is running its Christmas tree recycling appeal for households in certain areas. The initiative aims to engage with residents and allow them to dispose of their Christmas trees in an eco-friendly way, while helping to raise funds towards the care that Dove House provides across Hull and East Yorkshire.
On Friday and Saturday, January 10 and 11, 2025, people in the HU5 The Avenues; HU8 Garden Village; HU10 Anlaby, Kirk Ella, West Ella, Willerby; HU13 Hessle; HU14 North Ferriby; HU16 Cottingham and HU17 Beverley postcode areas can register to have their tree collected in return for a donation to the hospice (recommended donation of £10 per Christmas tree). Last year’s tree recycling raised over £2,000 for the cause.

Dan Clipson, senior fundraiser at Dove House Hospice, said: “This Christmas sees the return of our well-supported recycling initiative, having raised over £2,000 in 2023. Residents can simply leave their real Christmas trees at the top of their drive or in their front garden and our team of volunteers will collect directly.
“It is hoped that this year’s appeal raises £4,000 for local hospice care. Support of this kind from the local community is greatly valued by all at the hospice and is essential to help Dove House Hospice continue to provide the vital person-centred care for many people in Hull and East Yorkshire”.
