Red Arrows Death: MoD Suspends RAF Flights

The MoD has suspended all non-essential training flights of RAF planes with the mark 10 ejection seat.

The move will affect a number of aircraft including Hawk and Tornado but it will have no effect on operational flying, the Ministry of Defence explained.

The decision comes after the death of a Red Arrows pilot on Tuesday, who died after being ejected from his Hawk jet while the aircraft was on the ground.

An independent inquiry is being held into the incident at Scampton base in Lincolnshire.
