Red Belly Snake Found Behind Dog's Water Bowl in Sunshine Coast

A snake catcher in Queensland was called to remove a red belly snake found under a dog bowl in the garage of a Sunshine Coast home on September 21.

A family in Meridan Plains had a healthy red belly on the move through their property, Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 said. The snake ended up taking refuge in the garage where the family’s dogs hang out and curled up behind a dog bowl.

McKenzie said, “Luckily the home owner saw it and got his two large dogs away from the snake and called us straight away.”

Footage posted to Facebook shows McKenzie arriving at the home before locating the snake behind a dog bowl. He captured and relocated the serpent.

McKenzie said, “This time of year snakes are on the move big time and its important that all pet owners keep this in mind.” Credit: Stuart McKenzie via Storyful
