From red carpet to paddock: Nine Hollywood stars who love Formula 1

Formula 1 is a highly popular sport and is regularly followed by many A-list Hollywood stars. If you have the cash to splash, you can follow the sport around the world – and many do.

Below PlanetF1.com features nine Hollywood stars who have shown a particular love for F1.

Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt is all over the news for his up-and-coming stint in the cockpit of a real race car while filming for a new movie on Formula 1.

The film is yet to be named but director Joseph Kosinski of Top Gun: Maverick and producer Jerry Bruckheimer shared production details during a panel about the untitled film at the F1 Accelerate Summit in Miami.

The movie stars Pitt and counts Lewis Hamilton as one of its producers and makers are said to be creating an 11th team that will film on the track at the British Grand Prix taking place at Silverstone on July 9.

Pitt is scheduled to drive during the weekend as part of the movie which is being made by Apple Studios.

Filming will occur between races and will continue at other F1 weekends until the end of the year.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway made it clear she had a passion for Formula 1 racing when she recently rubbed shoulders with Daniel Ricciardo at the Met Gala in New York City.

Hathaway admitted she was a “huge” Formula 1 fan when she gushed about her love of the sport to Ricciardo on the red carpet.

The clip of the two stars chatting immediately went viral as fans were delighted to see the merging of the two celebrity worlds play out onscreen, so perhaps we could see her in the paddock in the future…

Patrick Dempsey

Patrick Dempsey’s love for F1 has been well documented over the years and he can often be spotted in the F1 paddock.

Dempsey began participating in sports car racing in the mid-2000s, competing at prestigious events such as the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

In 2014, he became a co-owner of the Dempsey-Proton Racing team, which competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and participated in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

Cameron Diaz is another Hollywood star who is recognised for her love and passion for Formula 1, having attended multiple races and been spotted more than once interacting in the paddock, as well as on the grid in Monaco in the past.

A well-known petrolhead, her presence at Formula 1 races has been covered by media outlets and shared through social media.

In interviews, Diaz has shared her fascination with the technology, strategy, and high-speed action that make Formula 1 so captivating.

Eric Bana

Eric Bana is widely known for his love and passion for Formula 1 racing. He has actively participated in racing events as well as being involved in various projects related to motorsports.

Bana has competed in several celebrity races and has even raced professionally. His passion for racing led to the creation of the documentary film “Love the Beast” in 2009.
