It's actually happening. The bald headed computer wonder that is Holly is making a triumphant to return to Red Dwarf later this year.

The 12th series of the long-running sci-fi comedy will see Norman Lovett return as the inept computer, after last being seen at the end of series 8.

The last we heard from Holly was when Rimmer mentioned that he was being dried out due to water damage after Lister left a bath running for nine years in Back to Earth.

Dave has also confirmed when Red Dwarf will be returning: Thursday, October 12.

"Yes, it's true," writer and director Doug Naylor said. "Holly, played by Norman Lovett, guest stars in one of the new shows in Red Dwarf XII. But which show remains a secret!"

Lovett played Holly in the first two series of Red Dwarf, before being replaced by Hattie Hayridge for series three to five. Lovett returned for series seven and eight.

The core four of Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules are also all back on board as Lister, Rimmer, Kryten and Cat respectively.

We can't smegging wait!
