Disney's latest family-friendly epic A Wrinkle in Time features a brilliant cast line-up as Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Mindy Kaling star as three cosmic guardians guiding the way for a young girl.

And, as it turns out, those same three cosmic warriors also prove pretty adept at guiding the way for Ricky Wilson and Radio 2 listeners as the actresses dropped by the Radio 2 Saturday Breakfast Show this morning (March 24) and opened up about the moments they felt comfortable about themselves.

Prompted by Ricky, who was filling in for Dermot O'Leary, when he shared the message he wanted young people (and his six-year-old-niece in particular) to take away from the film was to feel comfortable with who they were, Reese shared that hitting the big 4-0 was that moment for her.

"I think turning 40 was a good place for me," Reese said. "It released something for me. I felt like I didn't need as much outside assurance – it was good for me.

"And you get rid of people in your life who really aren't serving the friendship or the purpose in your life."

The actress also revealed that she's felt "grown-up" since her 20s, having had her first child at 22, and Oprah Winfrey added that hitting 40 is about the moment that you start letting go of old baggage.

"The thing about it is, however old you are now, double that and you will still be feeling the same way," Oprah added.

"That's the thing about the numbers changing, you always feel like the same person inside. That's what's wonderful about it, if you keep embracing life."
