Refurbished Shoezone reopens in Hull weeks after rioters smashed up and raided shop
Shoezone has reopened its Hull city centre store with a fresh new look just eight weeks after violent disorder saw the shop smashed up and raided.
Disturbing photographs from the riot showed shoes scattered all over the pavement outside and a large fire in the doorway of the shop. The store was boarded up along with others that were damaged, including Lush and O2, which have also since reopened.
A large band of Hull volunteers arrived with brooms and bags to clean up the morning after the riot alongside workers from Hull City Council. Shoezone later announced it suffered £300,000 worth of damage.

To celebrate the relaunch of the store, Shoezone will have a number of special opening offers available for its customers. These deals will include savings on a selection of styles and other seasonal offers.
With a refitted space and new product offerings, Shoezone stocks its own brands and a variety of exciting name-brands popular with online shoppers, such as Lilley & Skinner, Heavenly Feet and Kickers.
Anthony Smith, chief executive of Shoezone said: "It is exciting to be reopening our store in Hull. We hope that our customers like the new variety of products and we look forward to welcoming them back into the store."
