In partnership with TV presenter Reggie Yates, Airbnb is releasing Insider Guidebooks for Londoners to discover the best, but most hidden-away places in the capital.
A survey produced by Airbnb revealed that half of British people had never visited their local museum. Additionally, they were more likely to have visited the Eiffel Tower than the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.
The different guides will be "notable local experts" such as musicians, sport stars or TV personalities. The Evening Standard followed BBC presenter Reggie Yates around London to discover three of his favourite places.
According to Yates: “we kind of take for granted how special this city is."
He continued: "in one mile of walking here in London, you can walk through several different communities, you can hear 50 different languages and you can buy cuisine from any corner of the world.”
Reggie's favourite places include: Rebels Alliance (a bike/coffee shop) and LN-CC (one of several hipster dens hidden in North London). With a setting reminiscent of Kubrick’s Space Odyssey the underground local is a mix between a hype clothing store and a lounge bar. As well as cocktails, you can find vinyls, designer clothes and a vast collection of trainers. The place is ‘semi-private’, meaning a membership is not always necessary, depending on the party.
In a final visit, Yates' gives a tour of Abigail Ahern's interior design store, a place where he comes to "indulge in his dirty little secret.
