Remarkable satellite timelapse captures swirling typhoon crossing Pacific Ocean

The National Weather Service has posted a timelapse of satellite imagery, showing Typhoon Jebi as it moves over the Pacific Ocean.

Jebi was forecast to peak as a super typhoon on Saturday 1 September.

Weather models indicated that the storm would reach the mainland of Japan by the middle of the next week according to an interpretation of NWS data by Stars and Stripes.

Japan has already experienced downpours and intense winds following Typhoon Cimaron - which made its way to the mainland over the weekend.
