Remembrance Day Cornwall events and services taking place this year
Cornwall will fall silent to commemorate fallen war heroes at moving Remembrance services. People will gather at towns and villages across the county to pay their respects to the servicemen and women who have given their lives in conflicts past and present.
Parades and services will take place both on Remembrance Sunday on November 10 and Armistice Day on Monday (November 11). Two minute silences are observed on the 11th day at the 11th hour of the 11th month to remember the end of the First World War.
Armistice Day marks the day when fighting was suspended on the Western Front in 1918, so Germany and the Allies could reach a peace agreement.
