Remembrance Sunday marked at services in and around Glasgow as hundreds gather
Remembrance Sunday has been marked across the whole of Scotland today at various memorial events, including in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
Hundreds gathered at George Square in Glasgow this morning (November 10) in memory of those who fought and died in conflict. Veterans and military personnel lined the square as Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes, alongside Glasgow's Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren and others, lay poppy wreaths at the Square's cenotaph.
First Minister John Swinney led tributes at the Remembrance Sunday service in Edinburgh and said he would particularly remember his uncle who died in the Second World War.

South Lanarkshire residents marked Remembrance Sunday with various services, including at the Cenotaph in Bothwell Park. Among those in attendance was Provost Margaret Cooper and Vice Lord Lieutenant of Lanarkshire, Gavin Whitefield.
A Remembrance Sunday parade could also be seen through North Lanarkshire, posting to their Facebook North Lanarkshire Council wrote: "On Remembrance Sunday we come together to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in our armed forces."
Speaking of this morning's service at George Square, Lord Provost Jacqueline McLaren said: "Tremendous turnout this Remembrance Sunday despite the drizzle. My privilege as Lord Lieutenant to lay a wreath on behalf of the city.
"Grateful to everyone for paying their respects to our serving military, veterans and those lost to conflicts."
