Renault to cut output by 500,000 cars due to global semiconductor shortage

French carmaker Renault will be rolling out half a million fewer vehicles this year due to a shortage of semiconductors. The company says it should be able to maintain its profit outlook despite the chip shortage, by hiking car prices and cutting costs.
