Amongst those highlighted at the awards ceremony was Emma Donald who won the Industry Rising Star Award.
Emma, who is the community, corporate and events manager at the Howwood hospice, said: “I have been working in fundraising for just over a year now and I have loved every minute.
“It is such a privilege to work alongside our supporters and volunteers at the hospice. This award is definitely for them!”
The award was first of three nods for the hospice which said it was “humbled and delighted” to be shortlisted in the ‘Best Individual Giving Campaign’ category in recognition of its work to share Lynn and Derek Forsyth’s story.
Derek, who was Scotland’s senior men’s hockey coach, used the hospice towards the end of his life and his wife Lynn fondly recalls the moments and memories they created while using the services.
The campaign which raised valuable funds, was also intended to help dispel myths and misconceptions which can often surround a hospice and the team at St Vincent’s were commended for the sensitive and delicate sharing of such a powerful story.
In addition, the hospice was nominated in the “Best Partner Relationship” category for its work with McDonalds in the community.
The local restaurant group raised an incredible amount for the hospice through its charitable work and the partnership demonstrated an ability to connect local business into the very heart of the hospice.
Debbie Mooney, director of income generation at St Vincent’s, said: “These nominations and award are a testament to how hard working and passionate Emma and the wider team are.
“This award reflects the care and compassion they bring to work every single day and we could not be prouder.
“Thank you also to our wonderful supporters and volunteers who always go the extra mile for St Vincent’s. Without them, recognition like this would not be possible.”
