Have your say on what should replace old Halfords store in Tewkesbury
The sight of empty shops in town centres is very sad indeed and in Tewkesbury there is one location behind the town's very own High Street that is currently empty.
The former Halfords store off Oldbury Road closed down a while back as the chain went into administration. In 2020 they announced plans to close up to 60 stores and garages, which led to hundreds of job losses across the UK. The store in Tewkesbury only had one floor and today with fences up and work being done to the exterior, there is little information as to what is going on.
So the question that is being posed to readers, not just in Tewkesbury but outside the town, is what do you think should go here? What would be your dream venue in the town? Should it turn into a pub? Should it be a new independent shop? Could it be turned into a mini-indoor market?

All of us have ideas but if you could have one, what would it be? It's ideally situated in the town centre, close to nearby Bishop's Walk and right next to Spring Gardens car park. At the moment it is an eyesore of an empty shell, so who knows that the future may hold?
