It's official, Piers Morgan is leaving Good Morning Britain. Well, he is temporarily. ITV has confirmed that the controversial presenter and his co-host Susanna Reid will be taking their annual summer break in July.

Of course, that's great news for them, but the TV duo are leaving behind some pretty big shoes to fill. Just who could be up for the job? We decided to catch up with bookmakers Ladbrokes to find out which presenters are the hot favourites to takeover.

6. Adrian Chiles and Christine Lampard

Adrian and Christine were hired by ITV to host Daybreak – the show that would eventually be renamed Good Morning Britain. When ratings plummeted, both got the sack. Christine however has since more than proven herself as a regular lead host on Loose Women. At 20/1, someone clearly believes producers may just take a gamble on the presenting duo.

(But they won't.)

5. Sean Fletcher and Ranvir Singh

Step forward Sean and Ranvir. The sports presenter and newsreader are set at 8/1 to take on GMB's top gig. Neither of them have held the show on their own before so we're not sure if they'd feel confident enough yet to take on such a responsibility. We can imagine Piers would scrutinise their every move too.

4. Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins

At 6/1, Ben and Charlotte are fourth favourites to takeover from Piers and Susanna. Of course the pair are already regular features on the show on a weekly basis, so if they were to fill in as lead hosts, ITV would need to recruit more presenters to cover their usual jobs.

3. Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford

Clearly a strong candidate, Eamonn appears on our list twice. At 4/1, Ladbrokes believe he and wife Ruth may step in. However, the duo usually replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning over the same period and it's unlikely they'll take on both jobs.

2. Charlotte Hawkins and Eamonn Holmes

It was announced on May 25 that Charlotte and Eamonn would be taking over Good Morning Britain during the summer half-term week while Susanna and Piers are on holiday. He famously presented GMTV for 12 years and acted as the lead host for GMB over Easter. Eamonn and Charlotte are tipped at 5/2 to replace Piers and Susanna.

1. Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway

Kate and Ben are currently in first place with odds placing them at 2/1 to replace Susanna and Piers. These two regularly fill in for the duo on Fridays and they also stepped up to the job last summer. They've certainly proven they're a safe option.

Good Morning Britain is on ITV, weekdays at 6am.
