Rescue Crew Save Deer Stuck in Icy Kansas Lake

A rescue crew saved a deer that was stuck in an icy lake in Edgerton, Kansas, on December 26.

Footage by Fire District #1 Of Johnson County shows a team of first responders wearing specialized ice rescue suits at the scene.

“Once the crew members made contact with the deer, they began making their way back to the shoreline with the deer in hand. The deer remained calm during the entire rescue,” a Facebook post said.

After the rescue, the deer was covered with blankets and moved to a sunny area to warm up, and it eventually ran off with no injuries. Credit: Fire District #1 Of Johnson County, KS via Storyful
