Rescue Crews Continue to Search for Bridge Collapse Victims in Genoa

The search for survivors in the rubble of a collapsed motorway bridge in Genoa continued for a second night on Wednesday, August 15, as the hope of finding victims alive dwindled.

Italy’s Ansa news agency said the death toll from the collapse rose to 39 on Wednesday as Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte declared a 12-month state of emergency in the Liguria region.
