Rescued Puppies Taken In by Kununurra Police; GoFundMe Page Kicks Off

Kununurra police in the Kimberley region of Western Australia have issued an update on nine pups recently rescued from neglectful conditions.

The pups were looking “happier and healthier” after their rescue two weeks earlier, Kununurra police said on June 26. A GoFundMe page was created to care for the foster canines, particularly one who was internal bleeding and requires surgery.

At time of writing, the page had fund raised $1480 of its $3500 goal.

Western Australia Police said on average one dog is taken from a harmful environment each month in Kimberley.

“Remember, having a pet is a privilege, not a right and owners need to be responsible for them. Vets encourage owners to sterilise their pets,” the police said on Facebook.
