Rescuers save girl, 10, trapped in avalanche in northern India

Rescuers on Saturday saved a girl trapped in an avalanche in northern India. The shaky footage shows a group of locals and law enforcers rescuing 10-year-old Zaida Kousar from underneath a thick blanket of snow. They first dig out her feet and then manage to pull her out completely. Her mother Nasreen was also rescued. The two were on their way to fetch water in the Surankote area when they were hit by the avalanche. The clip was filmed on January 8 in Manai village in the Poonch district and distributed with permission by Surankote Police Station. Thanks to the speedy actions of rescuers, both mother and daughter are doing fine.
