Residents warned to stay indoors as crews attend fire in Henfield

A FIRE has broken out down a country lane.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue were called to an agricultural fire in Holmbush Lane, Henfield in the early hours of the morning.

Crews from Worthing are still in the area as small “pockets” of fire are still present at the scene.

A spokesman for WSFR said: “We were called to an agricultural fire in Holmbush Lane, Henfield at 1.13am this morning.

“We’re still in attendance and as there may be smoke in the area, we are advising that residents nearby keep their windows and doors closed.

“A crew from Worthing Fire remains in attendance, pockets of fire are still present so it’s a watching brief currently.”
