Residents Without Power as Tropical Storm Isaias Lashes Puerto Rico

Heavy rain and wind lashed Puerto Rico on Thursday, July 30, as a warning was in place due to Tropical Storm Isaias, according to local news reports.

The National Weather Service in San Juan said the storm was packing sustained winds of up to 60 mph and producing “life-threatening flash flooding and gusty winds over Puerto Rico.”

The National Hurricane Center said it expected the storm to move over Haiti and the Dominican Republic on July 30.

This video shows the storm in the southwestern coastal town of Cabo Rojo. The uploader said she was without power and that the water pressure in her home was low.
