An award-winning Indian restaurant near Coventry that 'offers the best of Indian cuisine' has been named among the UK's best with a Good Food Award for 2024/2025. Meriden Spice, located in Meriden, was honoured with a Blue Ribbon Award for high customer reviews, votes and ratings.

Meriden Spice is located above the Queen's Head pub in Meriden, which customers have praised for offering 'amazing food' and a 'great atmosphere'. The restaurant also offers a takeaway and delivery service, catering to special occasions in an indoor or outdoor marquee.

The menu consists of balti, biryani, tandoori, tawa, vegetarian, and Sylheti naga dishes, as well as chef's specials, European dishes, and traditional mains. Chef's specials include Murghi Masala, Karahi, South Indian Chilli Masala, Achari, Jalfrezi, and more.

The restaurant offers a range of dishes from South Asian cuisine, from Indian to Bangladeshi, with vegan and vegetarian options available. Drinks are available from the Queens Head pub downstairs due to the premises not having a license.

Here are some dishes customers can try when dining at Meriden Spice:

  • Murghee Chilli Bahar - Marinated chicken cooked with fresh garlic, onion, capsicum, green herbs, tandoori spices, and yoghurt. Dressed with green chilli and coriander. £8.95.

  • Fish Bengal Masala - A classic dish from the North of Bengal, tastefully spiced with a variety of herbs and spices, cooked with garlic, tomatoes, green pepper and fresh coriander. £9.50.

  • Tandoori Murghi Chana Palak - Marinated chicken cooked on the bone in a tandoori oven, then put onto a sauce off the bone, the sauce consists of cinnamon, chickpeas and spinach.

  • Tandoori Stir Fry Main - £9.95.

  • Sylheti Naga - Naga is a very rare chilli only found in the region of Sylhet in Bangladesh, a very rare fragrant & hot dish. £7.25.

  • Tawa - Cooked with onions and green peppers spiced with herbs. £7.25.

  • Vegetable Bhaji - £3.50.

  • Saag Paneer - £3.50

  • Tarka Dhal - £3.50.

The eatery has a 4.5-star rating on Tripadvisor and a Travellers Choice Award for 2024. Other ratings include food (5/5), service (5/5), value (4.5/5), and atmosphere (4.5/5). Meriden Spice also has a 4.5-star rating on Google reviews.
