A new burger restaurant is set to open on Nottingham's busiest shopping street after plans were approved by the city council. Burger & Sauce applied to set up an eatery in Clumber Street in the city centre last year.

The 150 square metre unit was previously occupied by clothing retailer Levi's, which moved to Victoria Centre in autumn 2023. Burger & Sauce, which serves handmade burgers, has another outlet in Radford, on Alfreton Road, which opened in September 2022.

The opening of the new venue could create 10 full-time jobs and five part-time ones, planning documents submitted to Nottingham City Council say. The planning application has also described the installation of an extract canopy to the rear of the building, adding that it will operate between 11am and 11.30pm.

On Wednesday, January 29, the city council gave permission for the restaurant to put signage in place. Shoppers in the city centre previously expressed mixed feelings regarding the opening.
