Millions of children went back to school on Monday after over two months of home studying during the third national lockdown, with many celebrity parents marking the occasion.

Primary school pupils are able to head back into the classroom while secondary schools can stagger the return over the week to allow for COVID testing.

Among those posting about their offspring's return was Katie Price, who posted a photo of her youngest two children Bunny, six, and Jett, seven, posing in their school uniforms with breakfast in hand.

"Finally my babies back at school and they are so excited ❤️❤️," she wrote.

Meanwhile, her ex husband Peter Andre divulged on his page that he had dropped the children they share together, Princess, 13, and Junior, 15, off at school before taking the son and daughter he has with second wife Emily, daughter Amelia, seven, and son Theo, four.

"Wait what.... ? Omg what a moment. So I just dropped J and P off and I’m back home with Millie and Theo having breakfast before school...........Was kinda wondering if and when the day would come when all 4 would be going back. Wow. Now where’s that coffee.....

"Seriously though, these kids will feel some sense of normality at last. Very happy for J and P to actually be with their friends again. They are at the age where they need social interaction. Have a Good day everyone," he remarked.

Stacey Solomon wished luck to all parents sending their kids back to school as she wrote in an Instagram Story: "Good luck to everyone sending their babies back to school today. I know it's a mixture of relief and worry, happiness and sadness all at once. But You've been incredible. And done such an amazing job."

Mother-of-five Kerry Katona noted that her youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge, six, would be heading back into school.

The former Atomic Kitten posted a picture of herself smiling while holding a mug as she wrote: "Happy bloody Monday you beautiful people the best of the week!!!!! It’s a new day, a new week, a fresh start, a new beginning and one out of my kids are back to school today! What’s not to be happy about!!!

"Gonna miss my little side kick Dj today! But she’s so super excited about seeing all her friends again!! Have a beautiful and blessed day everyone! 😘❤️🙏."

Elsewhere, Myleene Klass told her followers on Sunday night that her nine-year-old daughter Hero had been feeling anxious about getting back to school.

"Just had a big old cry with Hero putting her to bed," she divulged. "She’s feeling anxious about going back to school and I know how she feels as despite lockdown and homeschooling bringing its own mega challenges to us all, it’s been a privilege to be able to spend extra time with my girls, be completely surprised by what they can do on online school (Hero’s some kind of Nasa Techie and Ava can write lyrics to rival Bernie Taupin) and of course, film our lockdown music klasses together."

The former Hear'Say member posted a video of herself playing the piano with Hero and her elder daughter Ava, 13.

"This was exactly 50 weeks ago when we were just starting out. It wasn’t easy, we laughed, we cried, we laughed till we cried but it bonded us even more so," Klass continued

She added: "I guess what I’m trying to say is, I’m going to miss them and thank you girls, you’re simply amazing, such huge hearts and talents."

She said: "My absolute sweetheart Penelope made this ‘Welcome back’ poster for her friends at school 💗 her kindness and thoughtfulness for others is beyond what I could have wished for my daughter to be.

"Even though she has been feeling quite anxious and overwhelmed with everything recently she just wants to make sure her class mates feel welcomed back. Proudest mummy, I really am so lucky! 😍

"Wishing all the children a happy return to school tomorrow!. 😊 Wishing all the mums, dads, carers a nice cuppa Tea whilst it’s still hot."
