Crazy money. That’s where we are with the transfer market today.

The window slammed/quietly shut early in August, with several clubs in the top flight splashing the cash in a bid to bolster their club’s fortunes.

For some it has worked. For others, business has not proved so fruitful just yet.

And while there are always a bundle of laughs from the transfer period – just think of your annual reminder that Michael Owen is still Newcastle’s record signing – there is now a new way of laughing and/or crying at your own/other teams.

Thanks to a new tool from TotallyMoney, there is a way of measuring traditional transfer fees in today’s money.

The company has taken previous transfer fees from and converted them. And some of the are *truly* sickening.

So, we’ve done some digging and found the most expensive signing per club after the conversion – and you’d be surprised what your club’s new record signing is.
