Rain did not dampen the spirits of Godiva Festival 2024 revellers as they were wowed by Richard Ashcroft. The former Verve frontman headlined the first night of the three-day festival in Coventry last night (July 5).

He was greeted by a sea of rain coats and umbrellas as the crowds gathered at the main stage to watch him in action - and it was worth it according to those there. Revellers took to the Godiva page on Facebook to give their verdict on the gig.

One posted: "Richard Ashcroft brilliant worth every drop of rain," while another said: "Richard Ashcroft was awesome. Forgot about the rain and just got lost in the music."
