Richard Blackwood tells how his mum died in his arms after cancer battle

Richard Blackwood has shared the news that his mum has died in his arms after a battle with cancer.

The comedian, actor and singer posted photos of his mum Juliet on Instagram alongside the sad news that she passed away over the weekend.

He wrote: “I post and write this with a Heavy Heart this morning! I never put too much up over the last few weeks but my close friends and Family knew my mum was fighting her 3rd battle with Cancer!

“She passed away in my arms last night in front of my Sister, My Niece and my Son!!”

Blackwood, 48, thanked all of those who had offered him support in his mum’s final days, and paid tribute to her strength.

He wrote: “My mum was the strongest woman I know and to the very end never complained!

“Always pushing her kids and Grandkids to keep going and not have any Redeye or Hate in your Heart, hence why allot of you saw me Acting in this time or performing doing stand up and trying to make others smile when I wasn’t smiling!

“Mum your watching over us now but I’m honoured to be your Son Love You.”

Blackwood’s celebrity friends rallied round to offer their condolences as he gave his sad news.

Nadiya Hussain wrote: “Our prayers are with you x”

Alesha Dixon commented: “I’m so sorry . I’m so pleased tho that you were with her ....”

Davina McCall added: “I’m so so sorry Richard for your loss, sending you so much love.”

Coleen Nolan remembered meeting Juliet when Blackwood was competing in Dancing On Ice.

She commented: “So so sorry for your loss, i remember meeting her at DOI, she was so so lovely xxx”

Blackwood also received condolences from Chelsee Healey, Kirsty-Leigh Porter and Wretch 32.
