Richard Madeley speaks out on Alan Partridge comparisons in 'Good Morning Britain' role
Richard Madeley has called comparisons between himself and Alan Partridge "unfair", but admitted "I think it's quite funny".
The broadcaster who spent many years presenting alongside wife Judy Finnigan has recently landed a new job at Good Morning Britain after guests stints as Susanna Reid's co-star.

But viewers of the ITV breakfast news show have often likened Madeley, 65, to Steve Coogan comic creation Alan Partridge, a down-on-his-luck TV presenter known for his cringeworthy comments and who is said to have been based on Madeley.
Madeley, who is set to enter I'm A Celebrity this weekend, told Metro: "I honestly don’t care at all. I think it’s quite funny. It’s part and parcel of doing the job that I do."
Adding that it was "so important" not to take yourself too seriously in TV work, Madeley insisted he didn't mind the criticism.
He added: "So if people want to take sentences that I say or little ponderings, [and think], 'Oh, that’s so Alan Partridge,' good luck to them."
But Madeley admitted: "I think some of the quotes are often made up to be honest with you, or they’re taken so ludicrously out of context, but I look at it sometimes and I think, 'Oh that’s a bit unfair'."
Recent criticisms of Madeley's GMB appearances have included his grilling of a Sage scientist about her political views, admitting to not being able to remember the last time he wore pants, and backtracking over whether he would continue to wear a facemask in the supermarket.
He also left viewers in hysterics when he accidentally grabbed a tube of fake tan at home on his way into the studio, believing it to be moisturiser, and gradually turned a deeper shade of orange during the live show.

Madeley had been heavily rumoured to be joining I'm A Celebrity this year with his son-in-law James Haskell, who took part in 2019, appearing to confirm the rumour in a GMB interview.
It will not be Madeley's first appearance in reality TV as he starred in The Circle in 2019, posing as a young woman called Judy.
