Richard Madeley has announced he will be returning to Good Morning Britain soon.

And by 'soon', we mean, tomorrow (Thursday, June 3)! The veteran presenter didn't give his fans much time to prepare when he revealed on Wednesday (June 2) that he was due back on the ITV show.

"Not one, not two, but three early morning alarms by my bed tonight - back on guest co-hosting duties with Good Morning Britain tomorrow (Thursday)," he joked. "Good to be back (well, for me... as to you, I can only apologise...) See you there, folks!"

While Susanna Reid has been off this week on half-term, Adil Ray and Ranvir Singh have held down Good Morning Britain thus far.

Madeley has put in some very memorable appearances on GMB since he became one of the rotating guest hosts back in 2017.

Perhaps his most memorable stint was when he was caught accidentally swearing on the air two days in the same week! On the first day, he accidentally said "shit" without realising the time of day.

Later that same week, he made a mistake again when co-presenter Kate Garraway joked that she hoped he'd "stay the same colour" while using fake tan on his face.

"I bloody hope so," he quipped, before admitting: "Excuse me, oh no, he's sworn again."

His mistakes were certainly not for a lack of experience. His daytime presenting experience dates back decades as one-half of a popular morning duo along with wife Judy Finnigan.

The duo famously hosted ITV's This Morning in its original heyday and later branched off to present Richard & Judy from 2001 to 2009.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays from 6am on ITV.
