At 45-years-old, The Repair Shop's Richard Talman is indeed married to Jenny, a former social worker.

Details about their relationship duration or how they met remain private, as Richard's wife prefers to stay away from the public eye.

The couple lives in Sussex with their two daughters, Emily and Alice, who have been the inspiration behind the name of Richard's jewellery brand, Emilice.

Richard has shared: "I just wanted something that was unique."

He added, "And something that potentially one day they could continue. Bearing in mind now that they are seven and five, one day, they might want to get involved."

Richard Talman, a craftsman from The Repair Shop, almost missed his chance to be on the show. He divulged how he thought the BBC's invitation to join the programme was a joke.

Narrating the close-call event, Richard said: "There was an answering message on my workshop landline saying,'I'm a researcher for a show called The Repair Shop and we wondered if you'd be interested in coming along to repair some jewellery on the television.'"

He admitted that his initial reaction was sceptical, explaining: "I went to press delete because I assumed it was a prank, but my wife Googled the phone number and it came up as a production company, so I called them back! ".
