One Foot In The Grave star Richard Wilson has told how his memory was “destroyed a bit” after he fell and hit his head a few years ago.
The Scottish actor, 84, fell off a balcony and banged his head after suffering a heart attack in 2016.
According to the Mirror, he has now opened up about the long-term impact, saying his memory has been affected.
“I do get quite tired about not being able to walk as I used to and having to use a stick, but that is frustration more than grumpiness,” the veteran star told The Oldie.
“The same goes for my memory, which has got worse since I had a heart attack four years ago in Hampstead, where I live. I fell off a small balcony while I was waiting to meet a writer for coffee outside Maison Blanc.
“As I did so, I hit my head, which caused a bleed in the brain. That's why my memory has been destroyed a bit.”
The actor said that as a result he is "more forgetful – but not more grumpy".
Wilson played cantankerous Victor Meldrew in the BBC series between 1990 and 2000.
He also appeared in televisions series such as Only When I Laugh, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, A Sharp Intake Of Breath and Room At The Bottom.
In more recent years, the actor played Gaius in 2008 mini-series Merlin, and he was in police procedural New Tricks in 2009.
