Ricky Gervais admits 'I don’t go to the doctor' as he shares row over health with partner
The Office legend Ricky Gervais, 63, has admitted that although he "knows the rules" about how to take care of himself as he gets older, he often "can't be bothered" to do the work required, much to the frustration of his partner, Jane Fallon.
The comedian opened up about his health to Romesh Ranganathan, 46, on BBC Radio 2 this morning, when the host began their chat by asking: "How’s life treating you?"
"Good, well good for 63, you know what I mean," Ricky replied with a chuckle, before Romesh quizzed the star on whether he had attempted biohacking to slow down the ageing process.

Ricky then admitted: "Well, I don’t really, I never have cared too much about health - I like to stay active, I’m vegan, which helps."
The After Life actor continued: "But it’s not enough - there’s this great documentary called Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones - and this guy has found out there’s these places around the world where people regularly live until they’re 95 - and it’s what their lifestyle is.
"It’s all to do with them being vegan, being active - they don’t go to the gym, they don’t jog - they’re just gardening all the time and making their own bread. So I sort of know the rules, but I can’t be bothered."
Ricky, who is embarking on his Mortality stand-up tour, confessed to Romesh that he tends to rely on his girlfriend Jane to assess his medical concerns, which can lead to arguments.
He explained: "I don’t even go to the doctor! I just go to Jane, ‘what’s that?’ And she says, ‘go to the doctor’, then I go, ‘so I am going to die then? Just say, no, it’s nothing!’, ‘I’m not a doctor’, ‘Ok!’
"So, I fear… If I had a little doctor down in the basement, I’d be down every day going, ‘what’s that, what’s this?’"
"What a job by the way, ‘what do you do?’, ‘Oh I’m Ricky Gervais’ basement doctor," Romesh interjected, before Ricky joked: "You’d get through a lot of gloves - that’s all I’m going to say!"
