Ricky Martin is engaged to boyfriend Jwan Yosef

Huge congratulations are in order for Ricky Martin, who has proposed to his boyfriend, Jwan Yosef.

Ahh, how exciting.

Jwan and Ricky have been dating for over a year, and the singer has revealed that he was so nervous about popping the question that he totally messed up his speech.

Speaking on Ellen, the 44-year-old star told the host: “I proposed. I was really nervous, but I got on my knees and I took out the little metal box I just had it in a little velvet pouch and instead of saying ‘Will you marry me’ I said, ‘I got you something!’ Bad.”

Erm, a little bit awkward?

Luckily Jwan eventually got the gist of what Ricky was trying to say, as Ricky continued: “And then he was like, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you’ and he was like, ‘What is the question?’ ‘Would you marry me?’ That’s it.

“Yeah it was very beautiful and then you know it was very beautiful. And then thirty minutes after I said, ‘Did you say yes?’ Yes. He said ‘Yes.'”

Ricky went on to add that his eight-year-old twin sons, Matteo and Valentino, were thrilled by the news, gushing: “They love each other, it’s perfect, Ellen. It’s been really special.”

The couple met after Ricky approached Jwan to buy some of his artwork, previously dating Carlos Gonazalez Abella from 2011 until 2014.
