Rider who reportedly failed to stop at serious crash to appear in court

A MAN is set to appear in court in connection with an alleged fail-to-stop injury road traffic collision near Weymouth which left another rider seriously injured.

Dorset Police were called shortly after 11:30 am on Sunday, August 14 2022 to reports of a road traffic collision on the B3157 at Goose Hill involving two motorcycles.

The incident happened in Portesham near Weymouth in the westbound direction toward Abbotsbury.

Reportedly, the rider of one of the motorcycles failed to stop at the scene.

The rider of the other motorcycle, a man aged in his 20s, sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation by the traffic unit, a 59-year-old man from Poole has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 29 2023 for an offence of perverting the course of justice.
