Prometheus revealed that the advanced race of 'Engineer' aliens were responsible for creating that ultimate human killing machine, the Xenomorph.
Well, it turns out that Alien creator Ridley Scott really does believe in superior extra-terrestrial lifeforms... and that one day they might kill us all.
"I believe in superior beings," he told AFP. "I think it is certainly likely.
"An expert I was talking to at NASA said to me, 'Have you ever looked in the sky at night? You mean to tell me we are it?' That's ridiculous.
"The experts have now put a number on it having assessed what is out there. They say that there are between 100 and 200 entities that could be having a similar evolution to us right now.
"So when you see a big thing in the sky, run for it," he joked.
"Because they are a lot smarter than we are, and if you are stupid enough to challenge them you will be taken out in three seconds."
His upcoming Alien: Covenant will feature more of the Engineers from Prometheus, who were revealed to be mankind's creators as well as their would-be destroyers.
Scott said he was bemused by the level of terror 1979's Alien caused – and that people kept coming back for more.
But Sir Ridley, however, is beyond your petty fears.
"Nothing scares me. I have a 9mm [pistol]," he said. Which is a pretty scary comment in and of itself.
Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo and Demián Bichir star in Covenant, which fits in the Alien timeline between Prometheus and the original movie.
Alien: Covenant will be released on May 12 in the UK and May 19 in the US.
