Ringo Starr issues 'thankful' update after fans confused by Paul McCartney pictures
Beatles legend Ringo Starr told fans he was "thankful" as he marked an important day. The drummer, 84, last night (November 27) issued an update to fans as he celebrated Thanksgiving in America.
The American national holiday takes place today and sees families gather to pay thanks for the good things in their lives, while eating traditional food like turkey and pumpkin pie. To celebrate the day, Ringo took to Instagram to post a photograph of himself in his usual 'peace and love' pose.
In the caption, he wrote: "Yes, I am thankful. I’m in America and it’s Thanksgiving time. I’d like to see some mini movies to show me what you’re thankful for. This is Ringo wishing you happy Thanksgiving peace and love."

The post has been liked more than 20,000 times and many fans wished Ringo their best in the comments. The Instagram post comes after Ringo's absence was notable as Paul McCartney attended the premiere of the new Disney+ documentary "Beatles '64" on Sunday.
The film, produced by Martin Scorsese, captures The Beatles' 1964 arrival in the United States and their legendary performances on The Ed Sullivan Show. Martin was pictured alongside Paul at the premiere at the Hudson Square Theatre in New York.
The photographs from the event were shared on Paul's Instagram account in a joint post with Disney, along with the official accounts of The Beatles and the late John Lennon. In the comments of the post, many fans wondered why Ringo didn't appear to be at the premiere.
Louise said: "Looking great! Where is Ringo?" Zane added: "Ringo where are you?" Leandro commented: "Sir Richard Starkey???" Giovanna commented: "Where’s Ringo????" Kadence posted: "CAN'T WAIT but where’s Ringo??"
Meanwhile, Ringo has spoken to Entertainment Tonight about The Beatles' Grammy nominations for their 2023 song 'Now And Then'. In the interview, he was asked about the rumour of Irish actor Barry Keoghan playing him in forthcoming films directed by Sam Mendes. Ringo said: "I think it’s great. I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many."
The Dingle-born drummer will also appear in new interviews in "Beatles '64", as Martin asks him about his memories of arriving in America and the spread of Beatlemania across the States.
