Rio renames airport after women's rights activist


Rio de Janeiro's main airport, Rio Galeao, marked International Women's Day by temporarily changing its name in honor of a prominent activist against domestic violence, Maria da Penha. “In Brazil, a woman is killed every three and a half hours. And during Rio de Janeiro’s carnival, a woman was assaulted every four minutes," says the head of marketing at Rio's airport.
