Police in Portland, Oregon, declared a riot late on August 22 on the 87th consecutive night of protests in the city.
This footage, posted to Twitter, shows gas in the air as police attempt to disperse crowds.
Police said in a statement that 14 people were arrested after a riot was declared. Protesters fired rocks, bottles and used paintball guns to target officers, police said.
The protest began when around 250 people gathered at Normandale Park at 9.15 pm police said. A riot was declared just before midnight after protesters moved south to gather outside the city’s Penumbra Kelly Building.
