RIVER City star Darren Brownlie is joining the cast of this year’s King’s Theatre pantomime.
The Paisley actor, who plays Mikey in the BBC Scotland drama series, will be the Man in the Mirror in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which opens on December 2.
Stage and screen stars Blythe Jandoo, Liz Ewing and Christopher Jordan-Marshall will also take to the stage, joining much-loved panto legends Elaine C Smith as Nurse Mary and Johnny Mac as Muddles.
Blythe, who will play Snow White, and Darren were a hit in last year’s show, Beauty and the Beast, while Christopher was last seen at the King’s in Cinderella. He is making a regal return as the Prince.
This will be Liz’s debut panto at the King’s, where she will play the Wicked Queen. Liz recently starred alongside Martin Compston in The Nest.
The King’s Theatre pantomime has been produced by Crossroads Pantomimes, the world’s biggest pantomime producer, since 2017.
This year, the venue has welcomed Cala Homes (West) as the headline sponsor of the show. The housebuilder recently moved its HQ in to Sauchiehall Street.
Liana Canavan, the company’s sales and marketing director, said: “The King’s panto really is an institution in the city, cherished by young and old, and a much-loved treat held dear by many families around Glasgow and the west each year. It’s a true honour to partner with them and support this beloved tradition for 2023.”
Suzanne McLellan, head of sales and development at the King’s said: "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the perfect festive treat for all the family. We look forward to working in partnership with the team at Cala Homes (West) to help us create an unforgettable panto experience for audiences.”
