Riverdale: First Trailer For Archie Comics Series

The first official teaser for The CW’s newest drama Riverdale has landed. The show, created by Arrow and Flash maestro Greg Berlanti, is not a sitcom as the comics would suggest but an hour-long drama that seems to take notes right out of Twin Peaks’ book. Taking the characters immortalised in the Archie Comics, the show adds sex-appeal, mystery and intrigue in a subversive take on Archie. Check out the teaser below…

While the trailer doesn’t give us any details about the story, it does provide a first look at the iconic characters - Archie, Betty and Veronica - as well as giving us a feel of the show. We get glimpses of a shirtless Archie, a murder, cheerleaders, a fight, bags of cash, and Veronica in a black swimsuit. It also namedrops The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl, which gives an idea of the vibe the show is going for.

Riverdale will star KJ Apa, Cole Sprouse and Camilla Mendes, and will debut on The CW on 27th January 2017. Keep your eye out for a UK broadcaster.
