Read on for all the need-to-know details.

When is season five coming back?

The midseason finale of the show aired all the way back in March, meaning we've been without Riverdale for about four months now. Luckily, the drought it about to end. Riverdale season five returns on Wednesday, August 11th with its midseason premiere. From there, the show will continue to air weekly for at least four episodes.

What is going to happen in the second half of the season?

When we left the gang back in March, Betty was still searching for her sister, Polly, Veronica and Archie were figuring out their newly rekindled relationship, and Jughead was missing after a drug trip gone wrong. According to the midseason teaser, all of these storylines will continue to be explored in the second half of the season. In addition, the Pussycats will be back in town, and Cheryl and her mom start a ministry. So, yeah, things are about to get interesting.

Will there be make out scenes?

Don't worry because the Riverdale cast and crew are making sure that fans get all the make out scenes they desire, while the actors remain safe in the COVID environment. KJ took to Instagram to show how they're handling make out scenes this season.

"Our new normal is washing our mouths before every take of a make-out scene..." KJ captioned a video of him and his on-screen love interest Camila Mendes gargling mouthwash. As we know, Veronica and Archie have started to rekindle their romance, meaning there are sure to be many more Varchie makeouts coming our way.
